According to the 2000 census, the Town of Waxhaw covers a relatively small area of 2.8 square miles and resides in 28173 zip code…along with the Village of Marvin. It is not always easy to differentiate Waxhaw real estate from Marvin real estate.

Waxhaw School | Waxhaw Elementary School
Union County public schools are noted as some of the best in the Charlotte area…and the Waxhaw schools are said to be at or near the top. Because of the recent population growth some of the Waxhaw schools are relatively new. Before the “Great Recession”, the county was pushed to provide enough new schools for the booming Waxhaw real estate market.
The Waxhaw high schools are Marvin Ridge High School on Crane Road and South Providence in Waxhaw…which includes both high school & middle school. The other Waxhaw middle school is Marvin Ridge Middle School. The Waxhaw elementary schools are Rea View Elementary, Kensington Elementary and Waxhaw Elementary, plus some Waxhaw residents attend Marvin Elementary.
All Waxhaw home buyers with children in school are advised to conduct their own research into potential schools before buying a home. This should include a visit to the school(s), in addition an analysis of all available information. The NC School Report Card provides an excellent picture of each school’s ranking in the state and district.
