Each county in the Charlotte Region is an Area – except Mecklenburg which is divided into 9 separate pie-shaped Areas, plus Area 99 for Uptown Charlotte, a total of 10 defined Areas.
Additionally, Area 13 Lake Norman, Area 15 Lake Wylie and Area 42 Mountain Island Lake, the only non-county Areas, offer multi-county searches around these lakes.

These Sub-Area searches are now available from Carolina MLS on a Realtor assisted program called Client Gateway.
