Union County Charlotte Real Estate ::
Union County Homes
Growth in the region has pushed outward from Charlotte in all directions, but mostly in the southeast - into Union County. This once sleepy, rural county with its wooded, rolling terrain is today the fastest growing Union County Homes for Salecounty in the metro area. To accommodate the new residents - and employ them - new businesses are springing up, especially in the U.S. 74 corridor between Charlotte and Monroe, the county seat.

The popularity of housing in Union County is due to many factors. However, two of the most overwhelming reasons are schools and taxes. Almost without exceptions, the Union County public schools are rated as some of the state´s best. And, with a smaller county budget, the Union County property taxes are lower than those in the city of Charlotte and many other area municipalities.

Easy Living!! Easy Commute!!
Union County also has its share of more affordable housing. When you depart the western part of the county, you have a vast variety of housing to choose from - both new and existing - in some of the county´s many small towns

Stallings, which abuts the Mecklenburg County line along the U.S. 74 corridor, is a quiet bedroom community of 3,700. The town has been growing fast, attracting residents who like its small-town image - but also the quick travel time, via the outerbelt/ Independence Boulevard, to Charlotte and beyond. Indian Trail, which began as an outpost along a native trading trail, is also growing fast. With 16,000 residents, Indian Trail is implementing its Downtown Vision Plan for a pedestrian-friendly town center with shops, restaurants and residential units. Both of these towns offer several desirable communities at various price points.

Lake Park was an early planned community and later incorporated, and is an example of "new urbanism." Here you´ll find townhomes and single-family homes, festivals, a shopping center and a private Christian school. Two small Union County communities striving to retain some of their rural tradition - Hemby Bridge and Unionville - offer easy commutes to Charlotte.
